Rhine and southern Germany travel information

The Rhine and southern Germany offer different landscapes and historic places for an extended journey. River towns, cities and inland destinations can be considered together when planning a route.

Cologne and Koblenz are among the cities associated with the Rhine. Koblenz stands at the meeting of the Rhine and Moselle. Southern Germany provides a different inland setting, so a journey linking the river with places farther south needs realistic travelling time.

Allow time for the journeys between destinations and distinguish general destination information from the details of a particular cruise or tour.
