England’s most ancient northern city lies on the River Ouse in the centre of the Vale of York between the Dales and North York Moors. Often described as a living museum, York’s Roman, Viking and medieval legacies mark the story of its history throughout the streets and buildings, from the narrow lanes of the Shambles to the majestic Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral north of the Alps. The Monkbar Hotel invites us to join in and greet the New Year in style with fine food and dancing, led by the hotel’s excellent management team. Throughout your stay there will be time to fully acquaint yourself with the best of this enchanting city, or perhaps just sit back, relax and gently soak up the atmosphere that the arrival of a brand new year always brings.
